Take time to discover.

From the Romanian Athenaeum to the Palace of Parliament, discover Bucharest with Elena. The walk takes in Revolution Square, follows Calea Victoriei and continues to CEC Palace and Stavropoleos Church, before a final stop outside the Palace of Parliament. Take time to notice the façades, put places into historical context and ask your questions. All landmarks are viewed from outside; interior visits and admission tickets are not included.

The Romanian Athenaeum

Our starting point: the Athenaeum’s columned façade and dome. An exterior introduction to this home of music, designed by French architect Albert Galeron.

Revolution Square

Outside the former Royal Palace, explore a square where the history of the monarchy meets the memory of December 1989. We view the buildings from public space.

Calea Victoriei

Follow this central Bucharest avenue, making time for its façades, changing perspectives and contrasts between different periods.

CEC Palace

Pause outside CEC Palace, completed in 1900 to designs by Paul Gottereau. Its façade offers a starting point for discussing French architectural influences in Bucharest.

Stavropoleos and the Old Town

Pause in the Old Town near Stavropoleos Church, founded in 1724. We look at its exterior and the surrounding streets before continuing towards the Palace of Parliament.

The Palace of Parliament

Our final stop: the Palace of Parliament, viewed from outside. Take in its scale and ask your final questions before we finish the walk. An interior visit to the palace is not included.

Meeting point

Meet Elena outside the Romanian Athenaeum, in front of the main entrance and its columned façade, at Strada Benjamin Franklin 1–3, Bucharest. Please arrive 10 minutes before departure; the meeting point is outside the building.

What to bring

Bring comfortable shoes, water and clothing suited to the weather. The walk takes place outdoors. If weather or local conditions require cancellation, Elena will notify you by email. The route may be adjusted around closures or works.

Accessibility

This approximately two-hour walk takes place entirely outdoors, with stops outside the landmarks. The route uses pavements and street crossings; the Old Town can include cobbles, kerbs and uneven surfaces. Contact Elena before booking to discuss your mobility or accessibility needs.

Which language is the tour in?

Each departure takes place in one language: French or English. Choose the spoken tour language when booking; it is separate from the website language.

How many people can join?

Groups are limited to 12 people. Reserve a place for every participant, including children, to keep the experience personal.

Do I need to book ahead?

Yes, to secure your place. Booking closes two hours before departure. You receive a confirmation with practical details and a cancellation link.
